Alexander's Cute

Justin's away on business again, so this morning I asked Alexander if he'd like to write Daddy an Email.

Alexander's Email: I love you and you are the best dad and I think I love you and I miss you and I love kindergarten and I hope you are working good. Love, Xander.

Justin's Email response: Miss you too, little cutie.

Alexander's verbal response: Well, I am little. And I am cute. I love Daddy because he always answers. *laughs* Now tell Daddy that I laughed.

Me: *types*

Alexander: Wow, it takes longer to spell "laugh" than it does to actually laugh.

Me: *laughs*

Alexander: Why are you laughing?

Me: Because you're cute.

Alexander: Being cute is nothing to laugh about.

Jack's Horror Movie Idea

Jack: Ding dong!
Me: Ding dong? Okay, who's there?
Jack: Cheese slice outside. Him have mouth.
Me: Really?!
Jack: Yeah. Him eat people.

Foody!

Today, at five and a half months old, Kai had his first taste of food. Rice cereal mixed with breastmilk. He did surprisingly well for a novice and seemed to really enjoy his meal. He was already opening his mouth for the spoon and didn't spit out quite as much as I had expected. He beat his brothers' first food experiences hands down. For me, it's bittersweet (as are so many things about raising children). There's both excitement and sadness about how he's growing and about the fact that I will no longer be his only source of food. But, it's mostly good news. Cheers, Kai!

More pictures!

Raven fans, say what?! My husband clearly wants my children to be disowned by my father, aunt, and cousins. Me? I'm Switzerland.

And... another one bites the dust! Alexander lost his second tooth to the string and doorknob trick this morning.

A Bunch of Pictures

I especially love the two pictures where Kai interacts with his older brothers with such adoration. It's mutual and I love it!

Jack's 3 Year Stats

Jack had his three year physical today. He's on track developmentally and a healthy little guy. He is 39 inches tall (80th percentile) and weighs 32 pounds (50th percentile). His body mass index is at the 12th percentile, a slim jim. He had to get one immunization and he did awesome!

Happy Third Birthday, Jack!

Jack at birth:

Jack at age one:

Jack at age two:

Jack now! We actually celebrated his birthday last weekend with a Mario Party, complete with costumes (Don't be confused; they switched costumes halfway through the day)! By the way, I just love the expressions on Collin and Mackenzie's faces, while eating cake, in the last picture of this group. Way to enjoy it, kids!
It seems that no birthday around here is complete without a trip to Chuck E Cheese, so while the big kids were at school, we met up with some of Jack's good friends. I think he enjoyed the solo spotlight for once. Shhhhh, don't tell Alexander! ;) Thanks to everyone who celebrated with us!

Jack sure has changed a lot in the past year! I think this year will be a big one for him, too.

Happy Birthday, my Cuteness.

A note from Alexander

Sometimes Alexander likes to dictate Emails for me to send to Justin while he's at work. They're always amusing. Here's today's:

Dear Daddy, I love you and you're the best and I like you and I'm very tall and I like school and I love school and Mom is taking very good care of me and I can't belive how you're doing so good at work and I like how you're earning us money but how come I don't get what I want all the time and how come it's only my special day on my birthday and I hope you get me some roller skates on my birthday. Please get me roller skates for my birthday. From, Alexander
