We also decorated gingerbread houses again for the third year. This year we got a gingerbread village, which was neat. Each of us got our own house to decorate. Alexander was pleased that his was the "sloppiest," and repeatedly told us that looking at his house would cause us to lose our minds. Jack enjoyed himself and ate quite a bit of candy.
Every night before I go to bed, I look in on Alexander and Jack. The other night, I found them fast asleep with hats on. When I asked Alexander about it in the morning, he explained that those were their "nightcaps." Cuties.
"Climbing the Daddy Mountain" is also a favorite pass time.
And lastly, check out the brotherly love. (And strength! That's 22 pound baby!)

I can't ice skate to save my life, but I can eat candy with the best of them! Guess jack takes after me more than Xander does.
How fun! What do you have to do to earn a HERO slip? That's a great prize!
They give out regular HERO slips a lot just when the kids are caught doing something good. They don't usually come with a prize, it's just recognition. Could be something as simple as doing their seatwork quietly if they're usually a chatterbox, or maybe helping a friend or something. Any staff member in the school can give them to a kid if they see them behaving really well. There's a whole reward system based on the HERO slips, with HERO parades, etc. HERO is an acronym for something, but I am not sure what! But he got these particular special big HERO slips from the principal with the coupons for something extra special, I guess! I am not 100% sure, because he just came home with them, but I think one of them was for perfect attendance for August/September. I think the other one was for attending Math Night at the school.
